Hey there, pleasure to e-meet you! Thanks for checking out my portfolio. As you already know, my name is Eric Witt, and I am a passionate, enthusiastic art director and designer! I have a keen eye for detail and pixel perfection, and a knack for determining aesthetic styles and direction. I’ve worked on several large accounts, focusing on branding, rules and guidelines, and digital marketing.
My love for design started when I was a wee lad. Growing up with a very artistic father, I developed a passion for the arts. Paired alongside with my fascination for technology and gaming, design was an easy career choice. My design background starts all the way back in middle school. I was a big PC gamer and played Halo competitively online. It was then that I downloaded my first ever Adobe software (Photoshop CS2) to make custom forum signature images for team members. Extremely nerdy, right? Nevertheless, a fun back story that further inspired me to become a designer. From there I went on to take specialized design classes in high school that were offered offsite. Once I hit college I began to branch out a bit to explore a variety of design avenues. After dabbling in motion design and 3D, digital design ultimately still had my heart, but what I had learned in motion and 3D was very valuable.
Upon graduation at Madonna University, where I earned highest distinction honors and a final cumulative 4.0 GPA, it was time to search for my first career opportunity. The amazing team at The Lighting Supply Company gave me my first opportunity as a design intern on their marketing team. From there I went on to work at a small studio by the name of Aragorn Advertising where I worked with a very small team for our automotive clients Eaton and Cooper Tires. Hungry for greater career opportunity and clients, I was hired at Hook as one of their founding Studio members. Promoted to junior designer, I worked alongside teams of producers, creatives, developers and studio on a wide variety of digital media for colossal clients Google and YouTube.
My approach to design begins with strategic planning, storyboarding and ideation, then leads to clever and innovative solutions that accentuate campaign goals and brand strategies. With every project, I am committed to delivering focused, consistent messaging with the creative flair that resonates with audiences. The skills, experience and family I have gained on my design journey has made me the designer I am today and I am forever grateful. I strive to continue my growth as an art director and designer and am always eager to learn new skills and software and meet/collaborate with other creative minds! Thank you for reading a bit more about me!
